Nikon remote control

We have been purging stuff for a few months now and one of our big projects is to purge our schoolwork. For most of the schoolwork, scanning worked, but for odd sized documents such as notebooks or handouts, we've been taking pictures of the pages. Last weekend, I had enough of turning pages and pressing the shutter button, so we sprung for a remote control for our camera. It was about $15 from amazon. We ended up getting the Nikon ML-L3. It's basic and easy to use. There were a lot of reviews about how it can only work when you aim it at the front of the camera, but it seems to work for the full 180 degrees in front of the camera. The settings on our Nikon D40x are easy to set up for the remote. Here are some photos:

The remote box, strap case and remote.
Under MENU, find Shooting mode:

Set shooting mode to Quick response rem:

Scroll down more to set the Remote on duration to set how long you want the camera to detect the remote before going back to regular shooting mode.
