Tokyo Fish Market - Tuna Auction

The Tokyo Fish Market auctions are only open from 5am - 615am. Since we were jetlagged, we woke up and 4 am and went. This is an auction as viewed from the tiny visitors area. It was awesome. Before the auction started, this guy rang a bell for about three minutes.

Hilton Shinjuku - Tokyo Japan

Our Singapore Airlines Tokyo package included 5 nights at the Hilton Shinjuku. The hotel was very clean and modern. All of the concierges spoke English really well and had great recommendations for food. The best recommendation was for a ramen area within a 5-8 minute walk. We ended up going there 3 times. The Shinjuku train station was within walking distance (about 15 minutes) or we could take the Hilton shuttle that leaves the hotel and picks up at the station every 20 minutes.

Daniel had emailed ahead to ask for a non-smoking room and if possible, one with a view. Our flight arrived late that evening around 8PM and they ran out of non-smoking rooms, so they upgraded us to a suite. The suite was amazing and almost as big as the suite we had for our honeymoon, but in a city! On the last day, the haze cleared and we even got to see Mt. Fuji.

Target at Culver and Barranca - Irvine, California

I know that all Target's pretty much have the same items for sale, but I always see interesting things at this one. Today I saw clear totes bubble umbrellaon clearance for $11.88. It's bizarre to see unique umbrellas down in the OC since it never rains here. But the umbrellas are cute!

Fixing our leaky shower faucets

A lot of water was leaking out of our water faucets when they were turned on. I didn't want to waste water to take a picture so, see image below :)

We TURNED OFF THE WATER, flipped off the plastic caps on the handles, unscrewed the handles, escutcheon and stem and took the stem to Lowe's to get new packing and seat washers.
The yellow washer was for the seat and the black washer was for packing.

The packing washer was attached with a screw and we just stuffed the packing washer into the stem.

It took a few tries to screw the stem back in the wall just the right amount so that the faucets didn't leak and were not so tight to turn. We found out that the packing nut doesn't need to be screwed in so tightly. When it is screwed in tightly, the handles were very difficult to turn.

We also had to use this stem removal tool to take out the stem and screw the stem back into the wall.

Then we added the handles and we were done!

Target at The District - Tustin, California

The firm at which I used to work produced the construction documents for this Target. It's one of my favorite Target stores. It's very clean and bright with its many windows in the food seating area.
